 -Level Control Using PAL\n\nAbstract:Sensory photoreceptors mediate numero
 us light-dependent adaptations across organisms. In optogenetics\, photore
 ceptors are used as switches for the reversible\, non-invasive\, and spati
 otemporally precise control of various cellular processes. The light-oxyge
 n-voltage (LOV) receptor PAL from the actinobacterium Nakamurella multipar
 tita belongs to the ANTAR family and binds small RNA aptamers with sequenc
 e specificity upon blue-light illumination. In this talk\, different syste
 ms that employ PAL to induce or repress gene expression in Escherichia col
 i will be presented\, providing new optogenetic tools that act at the mRNA
